On Thursday 30 April, EAPN wrote to MEPs to request support for Green MEP Jean Lambert Report on Active Inclusion, which will be voted in the European Plenary session next Tuesday 5 May.

Small Steps – Big Changes, is the new publication of the European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) on the participation of people experiencing poverty, launched today in Brussels in presence of Jérôme Vignon, Director, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the European Commission, Ludo Horemans, President of EAPN and Zoltane Szvoboda, Hungarian contributor to the publication.

The conclusions from the Spring Council in Brussels on 19 and 20 March do not deliver on the expectations of an integrated strategy for social cohesion, with concrete short-term and long-term proposals against the social impact of the crisis.

Ahead of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO) on 9-10 March 2009,
EAPN has written to the Ministers regarding the impact of the crisis on people in poverty and anti poverty organisations.
In their letter EAPN puts forward short and long-term proposals to ensure that the needs of people experiencing poverty are included in the response to the crisis.
