EAPN speaks in Spanish NGO Conference supported by Spanish Presidency on access to employment for social disadvantaged groups

The conference took place on the 22 and 23 February in Madrid, organized by 5 Social NGOs who have been instrumental in coordinating Structural Funds programmes on action against discrimination against specific target groups (Caritas Spain, the Spanish Red Cross, the Luis Vives Foundation, the ONCE Foundation and the Secretariado Gitano)...

The Minister for Employment Celestino Corbacho opened the conference, highlighting the key role of social NGOs in delivering effective targeted support for disadvantaged groups and working with emloyers to ensure sustainable employment. The conference explored best practices on access to employment and policy proposals on employment and inclusion, as well as concerns about the new Europe 2020 strategy and its impact on inclusion and on Structural Fund programmes.

EAPN intervened in the Round Table on Europa 2020 highlighting EAPN's key messages and highlighting the need to ensure an interated Active Inclusion approach to supporting people excluded from the labour market, backed by Structural Funds.
