In the EU the unemployment rate rose to 9.5% in January 2010 unchanged in comparison with December 2009. Read more on the website of europa.eu. On inflation, the figures published by Eurostat on 26th February show that the annual inflation rate in the euro area lay at 1% in January 2010 against 0.9% in December 2009. A year prior to this it lay at 1.1%. The monthly inflation rate was ‐0.8% in January 2010. Read more on the website of europa.eu.
