The Scottish Migrants Network, a grouping of organisations working with and for new migrants in Scotland, has recently launched a new poster campaign to inform migrants of their rights at work. The network, which is currently hosted by the Poverty Alliance, launched the posters at an event attended by the Deputy First Minister in the Scottish Government.
The posters are available in Polish, Lithuanian and Slovakian. “At a time of economic crisis the rights of many workers will be under pressure. Some unscrupulous employers will seek to exploit the current conditions by trying to avoid their statutory obligations. Migrant workers are especially vulnerable as they are often unaware of their basic employment rights. These posters will ensure that all workers are informed of their rights and know how to exercise them” said Peter Kelly of the Poverty Alliance.
