EAPN participates in bi-annual Stakeholder Dialogue for the European Platform Against Poverty

06/02 - The European Commission held the first Stakeholder Forum of the Platform against Poverty of the new year. The full-day workshop involved around 100 stakeholders, mainly European NGOs and networks, but also representatives from social partners, think tanks, the World Bank as well as the EESC, CoR and the European Parliament.

The new Director of Europe 2020: Social Policies - Dr Lieve Fransen opened the meeting and presented the mandate of the group, followed by presentations from Anne Degrand, Egbert Holthuis and Emma Toledano Laredo from the Commission on the outcomes of the 2011 Poverty Convention, the new priorities of the Annual Growth Survey, the up-coming Child poverty Recommendation and report on Active Inclusion. Following discussion, the dialogue continued in small workshops, providing input and debate on the issues of Active Inclusion, Social Innovation and the 2012 Annual Convention.
