30/03 – Several major NGOs and trade unions brought the People’s Legal Initiative to the Congress (la Iniciativa Legislativa Popular, ILP), calling for the modification of the law on mortgage so as to allow people to renounce to their house in exchange of the mortgage. 11 and 21 April – As the first round of austerity cuts begin to hit organisations and services across Scotland, these seminars will provide an opportunity to for all those concerned about poverty to look at what the implications are both locally and nationally.
31/03 – FNARS organised a demonstration in Paris and a flashmob in the city of Alençon to call on the National Government to finally put its commitment into practice concerning the housing of homeless people when winter housing centres close their doors.
On 31 March, about 40 representatives of social NGOs active in Zagreb or in the whole of Croatia met in a roundtable discussion on the Role of Civil Society in Social Exclusion in Croatia.
EAPN Director, Fintan Farrell, was invited by the European Green Party to take part in their plenary discussion on the social dimension of the Green New Deal at its Council held in Budapest from 21 March to 3 April.
