It is about time the Heads of State and Government reaffirmed that significant progress is to be made to help and support those in poverty, who are still excluded from the ‘EU family’ project.
EAPN assessment of how the new Lisbon process is integrating social inclusion priorities and promoting the active participation of social NGOs and people experiencing poverty. It forms part of EAPN’s contribution to the Spring European Council.
These guidelines are pivotal in defining the mechanisms and scope of Member States’ contribution to delivering an effective OMC on social protection and social inclusion. They need to remain ambitious in defining a clear framework for promoting the European added value of this process.
