Details01-02/03 – EAPN participated in stakeholder workshop as part of an international project coordinated by Oxford University on shame, social exclusion and the effectiveness of anti poverty programmes.
Details06/03 – On 17-18 Nov 2011, a significant Peer Review was held in Brussels on ‘Developing effective ex ante social impact assessment with a focus on methodology, tools and data sources’, hosted by the Belgian Government. EAPN was the expert NGO involved together with COFACE, represented by Maria Jeliazkova from EAPN Bulgaria.

DetailsThe European Citizen Initiative Water is a Human Right was initiated and is coordinated by the European Public Services Union (EPSU), with 9 NGOs including EAPN. The campaign was also supported by many other organisations. This ECI gathered 1,884,790 signatures, succeeding to go over 1 million signatures to be received by the European Commission. The campaign is still running though, as the European COmmission has taken action despite the official receivability of the ECI. The ECI campaign is now over, but the campaign Water is a Human Right is also happening at global level, through various initiatives including Global Water Justice Campaign – Facebook: https://facebook.com/HRtoH2O and Twitter: @HRtoH2O.

Details19/03, Danish Presidency, Copenhagen – EAPN Secretariat and EAPN Denmark participated in the Presidency Conference co-organized with the intergovernmental Group: Europe de L’Enfance and the European Commission in Copehagen this week. The focus of the conference was to deepen discussion on key issues, in preparation for the Recommendation on child poverty due out later this year.

DetailsBrussels, 13 March 2012 – Following its response to the Commission’s legislative package for Cohesion Policy, EAPN calls on all Member States to support the Commission’s proposal of a 20% ring-fenced allocation of the European Social Fund (ESF) for social inclusion and the fight against poverty.
