The 18th edition of the EU Meeting of People Experiencing Poverty will be a discussion of five key topics decided by our members. Over a hundred people experiencing poverty – both working and out of work – will be in Brussels on 18-19 November to exchange ideas together and with EU politicians and policy makers.

Monday 18th November

 

08.30 – 09.00 Registration & set up of market place stands

09.00 – 10.00 ‘Market Place’ showcashing stands prepared by national delegations of people experiencing poverty presenting the preparations for the meeting.

  • Networking and informal exchanges between delegates and guests – with tea, coffee and refreshments

10.30 – 11.30 Opening Plenary

  • EAPN President / Vice President
  • Testimonies from 3 people with direct experience of poverty
  • European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion TBC – responding to the 3 testimonies
  • Member of the European Parliament TBC – responding to the 3 testimonies

11.30 – 12.00 Building a collective timeline representing the history of European Meetings of People experiencing Poverty

  • Rememorizing 18 years of history of the PeP Meeting – visual representation

12.00 – 13.15 World Café discussion tables on the 5 priorities of the meeting (first round)

13.15 – 14.15 Lunch

14.15 – 15.30 World Café discussion tables on the 5 priorities of the meeting (second round)

15.30 – 16.00 Coffee Break

16.00 – 17.30 Follow up of the World Café sessions (interactive workshops to prepare messages for the the plenary sessions with politicians)

20.00 Dinner, drinks and music and the Crown Plaza Hotel

Tuesday 19th November

8.00 – 9.00 Visibility Action, venue to be confirmed soon

9.15 – 10.30 History of European PeP meetings and Presentation of the Outcomes of the 18th European Meeting of People Experiencing Poverty, political priorities for the next five years
