From October 4 to October 6 2022, the 30th edition of the European Disability Days (EDD) will take place in Ostrava. This year’s jubilee year is included in the events within the framework of the Czech Republic’s presidency of the Council of the European Union and its main partner is the European Anti-Poverty Network Czech Republic.
The programme encompasses an international multidisciplinary conference on ‘Education and social policy in the context of factors affecting the quality of life of disadvantaged groups’, opening up discussions with the participants on goals, opportunities and transformations of society, various follow-up expert panels on topics of mental ilness, ‘Affordable housing’ and ‘A job that pays off?’, as well as competition programmes for schoolchildren.
The ceremonial announcement of the Crystal Stone (Křišťálový kamínek) awards will also take place this year for the sixteenth time, to highlight the selfless work of many health professionals and social workers who have sacrificed their personal lives for the benefit of those in need.
