EAPN lobbies for and with people experiencing poverty and their organisations and seeks to empower them to be actors of change

EAPN fosters participation of people experiencing poverty in the work and structures of national networks and EAPN, exploring how meaningful participation can be put in place, what are the obstacles to it, and how it can be strengthened in our organisations both at national and European levels.

The European Meetings of People experiencing Poverty (PeP)

The European Meetings of People experiencing Poverty (PeP) contribute to the right of people living in poverty to participate in the decision-making processes that affect their lives and well-being. They also act as a catalyst for national-participation processes.

EAPN organises these Meetings with support from the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the rotating Presidency of the EU.

The EU PeP Meeting 2022 will take place from 29 to 30 November 2022 in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting title ‘The unbearable cost of living’ will explore challenges and solutions linked to the very high cost of living people caused by the multiple crises we are facing: economic crisis, climate crisis, the war in Ukraine, aftermath of the Corona crisis. All latest developments on the event can be found here.
