An impressive attendance of engaged Members of the Parliament and representatives of Maltese NGOs and civil society packed the room for the Hearing.
The Hearing was also the occasion to launch ‘A Report about Poverty in Malta’ produced by the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice. The report includes direct accounts from Maltese citizens and refugees in Malta about their experience of poverty and social exclusion. Fintan Farrell, Director of EAPN took part in the Hearing and Gaza Gosztonyi brought messages from the Focus week in Hungary. The Hearing was also the occasion to ask the Parlimentarians to influence their Government and ensure support for the poverty reduction target in the Europe 2020 strategy.
