BAPN writes a parallel National Social Report
BAPN and its working group BAPN Europe 2020 (composed of people experiencing poverty who follow European polities and their implementation at national level) have formulated specific recommendations, both for the NSR and for the government, on the following themes: poverty & exclusion in general, stakeholder participation, social protection, inclusive labour market, equality and distribution of wealth, and monitoring. BAPN’s report is available in French and Dutch.
BAPN reacts to the 2nd federal plan to fight poverty
In September 2012, the Belgian council of federal ministers approved the 2nd Federal Plan to fight poverty, comprising 6 strategic objectives and 118 concrete measures. BAPN, together with people experiencing poverty, their organisations and the regional anti-poverty networks, analysed the Plan and came up with recommendations for each measure and each chapter (social protection, reduction of child poverty, access to the labour market and public services, combating homelessness and right to health). In its reaction, BAPN underlined the necessity to effectively monitor this Plan. BAPN welcomes some measures announced in the Plan, however others will increase the numbers of people experiencing poverty. BAPN’s reaction is available in Dutch (and soon in French).
