BAPN participates to trade union national demonstration on 02/12
The Belgian Anti-Poverty Network and its members, the regional anti-poverty networks, participate in a national demonstration, organised by the national trade unions, on 02 December. The main message is that we cannot make the next generations pay for today’s crisis. “The austerity measures and budget cuts that might be taken bring our society only further away, we need instead an inclusive economic recovery, with qualitative jobs for everybody, and find the money where it is”. See flyer of the demonstration and practical information for the demonstration on the FGTB website.
1st official meeting of the Belgian Platform against Poverty and Social Exclusion EU 2020
10/10 – the first official meeting of the Belgian Platform against Poverty and Social Exclusion EU 2020 took place. This platform functions as the central consultation body for the preparation and follow up of the European and Belgian policy concerning the fight against poverty. BAPN (Belgian Anti-Poverty Network) is (besides the administration, social partners,…) an active member of this Platform. BAPN has its own internal working group BAPN Europe 2020, (with people experiencing poverty, staff members, members and employees of the member associations), to follow up on the European policy, and to prepare its input for the platform, discuss the agenda, reports, results… of the Belgian Platform against Poverty and Social Exclusion. This way, BAPN tries to optimize the participation of people experiencing poverty and the realization of the anti-poverty objectives of the Europe 2020 Strategy.
