As well as key plenary sessions involving designate Commissioners, the European Parliament, ILO and ETUC, 15 workshop panels explored the implications of new labour research for a progressive strategy. EAPN spoke as discussant in Panel 1: Segmented labour markets from simple diagnosis to encompassing solutions, highlighting the need to put quality employment and the fight against growing in-work poverty at the heart of the segmentation debate, as well as the context of growing inequality and wealth, in which the widening gap on wages between low paid workers and those at the top is a key driver.
