On 8 September, EAPN, FEANTSA and CECODHAS sent a common letter to the Swedish Presidency and to the Rapporteur MEP Lambert Van Nistelrooij to support the European Commission’s proposal to amend the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Regulation regarding the eligibility of housing interventions for marginalised communities, in order to improve their housing conditions.
In their letter, the 3 organisations put forward 3 key demands: target interventions on the most marginalised and deprived communities such as Roma and homeless people; strengthen social infrastructures, especially the non-profit sector’s, to ensure long-term solutions and to enlarge the scope of the proposal to the EU 27 Member States and not only to the 12 new Member States, as the EC suggests.
