In preparation for 2010, the European year against poverty, the Italian Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs has appointed EAPN Italia (CILAP) to carry out a project with two specific objectives:
1) to carry out research on the presence, role and efficacy of the social Observatories as partners in the fight against poverty and,
2) to experiment with models for transferring the experience of the European Meetings of People Experiencing Poverty to the national level.
The project feeds on the experience matured by the Italian network over the years on the two issues. The final aim of the project is to support the Ministry in organizing a round table on poverty and social exclusion with a specific session devoted to the direct participation of people experiencing poverty that will take place in the second half of 2009 launching the national activities for 2010.
