The study visit followed shortly after the historic march of landless people organised by Ekta Parishad which resulted in an agreement with the Indian government on a programme of action for land reform. While in India the EAPN representatives had the opportunity to visit rural village communities who had taken part in the march and to talk with the people in the villages about their impressions of the march and to see first hand how they are organizing to claim their rights. To know more about the march see (make link to Jan satgraha march on Ekta website). On 3 December, EAPN supports a public meeting in Brussels where the leader of Ekta Parishad, Rajagopal will tell about the organisation and the outcome of this inspiring action of popular mass mobilization.
