People from all walks of life were there and many local sympathizers, but it was very much an international gathering, with lots of Spanish, French, Greek, Italian heard. There were also many young people which gave a very good impression of young people being very aware of a system they live in and having lots of energy to tackle it. It felt close, and very united with others in Greece, the United States, and arabic countries were in people’s thoughts too. There was a broad expression of wanting something else for the immediate future here in Europe but became grounded in local reality when the march stopped outside the Dexia bank on the ring-road and finally when the march was stopped by police at Place Schuman and access to the European Parliament was denied.
