Download it: EnglishFrench

The purpose of this report is to promote a dialogue between community sector networks in different member states of the European Union on structural fund issues and policies at a time when the reform of the funds is under consideration. This research involved:

  • Literature review on developments at European level relevant to this topic;
    Survey to establish the community sector perspective on the Structural Funds and their future through national organisations in membership of EAPN in seven member states;
  • Circulation of a working paper on the outcomes;
  • Transnational workshop on the findings of the survey;
  • Discussion of the research findings by a task force of the European Anti-Poverty Network;
  • Production of a four-page supplement, the newsletter of the European Anti-Poverty Network (February 1998);
  • and Research report (this document).

It is intended that as a result there will be an informed strand of the European civil dialogue able to make a contribution to the reform of the Structural Funds from a number of member states. It is intended that these issues be presented as a contribution to the European Social Policy Forum (June 1998).
