EAPN Spain at the OECD Forum “Better policies for better lives”

He gave an input during the session “Life after babyboomers” in a panel on “Reducing the risk of intergenerational-friction” composed  by Phil Zarlengo  as  keynote speaker.

In the context of the global financial crisis and high unemployment, several issues were raised, such as the pension reforms, the mismatch between retirement and new  jobs, no  real competition for jobs between generations but the need by the older generations  to help  creating new jobs. Carlos Susias referred the so-called  current   competition  for jobs  between young  and older generations as “fallacious”, as  such  competition  does not exist  and is  only  an attempt  for  introducing/maintaining precarious jobs.
