EAPN held a Globalization and Poverty Workshop and Seminar on the 11th April, involving EAPN National members, facilitators involved in the 7th People Experiencing poverty conference, and members from key Development organisations including CONCORD, Solidar, Caritas, ATD Fourth World and Dignity International.
The day was divided into two separate events, the first a hands-on workshop, facilitated by Aye Aye Win, Director of Dignity International, which provided an introduction to how to embed a human rights approach further in EAPN anti-poverty work at national level and link bottom-up approaches to empowerment of people experiencing poverty in the global fight against poverty.
The afternoon seminar aimed to get feedback on EAPN’s current position on globalization and poverty “Can Globalization work for the poor", exchange perspectives and explore the potential for developing more coherent approaches and actions between Social and Development Organizations.
See the Concept Paper and the programme. A Seminar Report and the EAPN Position will be available shortly. For more information contact: sian.jones@eapn.skynet.be
