2010 and beyond: the legacy we want!
EAPN held an ambitious seminar entitled “2010 and beyond: The legacy we want” on May 29th in Brussels. It was attended by more than 90 participants including 70 EAPN members, other NGOs and stakeholders, academics as well as EU decision makers.
In a period of crisis and political changes, EAPN vigorously expressed its concerns regarding the lack of concrete progress in the fight against poverty and demanded a new strategy for Lisbon post 2010, signing up to a Social Progress Pact. Building on a long work experience, EAPN precisely described “what we want” at national and European levels in terms of anti poverty policies and also regarding employment, economic, governance and participation policies. The outcome of this seminar will be discussed in EAPN General Assembly in Vienna (May 10-13th), and the conclusions will be EAPN’s roadmap for lobbying action in the coming years.
