Measuring energy poverty to ensure a socially fair green transition

The European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN), together with Climate Alliance and Joint Research Centre, will host a workshop on “Measuring energy poverty to ensure a socially fair green transition”, in the context of the EU Regions’ Week. The session will take place online on Tuesday, 11 October 2022 from 11h30 to 13h00 CEST.

This session will bring together representatives from different organisations and with different capacities, in order to discuss the importance of impact assessment and data collection, as well as the challenges faced in measuring energy poverty and social justice in the green transition. EAPN’s own Policy Officer, Sabrina Iannazzone, will be sit on the panel as one of the speakers together with Gioros Koukoufikes from the Joint Research Centre, Alice Corovessi from INZEB, and Davide Cassanmagnago from the Covenant of Mayors Europe.

​The 20th edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegions​​Week) will take place from 10 to 13 October 2022 under the motto “New Challenges for Europe’s Cohesion“. The topics of this year’s edition cover green and digital transitions, territorial cohesion and youth empowerment, with special attention given to the role of cohesion policy in Europe’s sustainable recovery, as the most effective tool for solidarity in response to emergency and the aftermath of crises.
