September 21, 2016
The International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the World Bank Group, together with other leading development agencies, will come together during the 71st session of the UN General Assembly to present the Global Partnership for Universal Social Protection. The official launch of the new Global Partnership follows the June 2015 agreement by the ILO and the World Bank Group to promote universal social protection as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The launch of the new Global Partnership for Universal Social Protection will showcase evidence from more than 20 countries who have achieved universal social protection coverage and present the different approaches available to make universal social protection an achievable objective as part of every Member State’s plan to realize the SDGs.
