As part of the study visit the participants met with EAPN staff in the EAPN secretariat to discuss current developments and priorities in the work of the EU. It was an important occasion to also discuss the role of Finland in the EU and to present EAPN’s concerns regarding the Finish Governments proposals to respond to the Euro crisis by creating and ‘A class membership of best functioning economies’ which in the views of EAPN would amount to a first and second class engagement in the EU.
