Fundación Secretariado Gitano (Member of EAPN Spain): More EU Funds for labour insertion of disadvantaged groups in Spain, especially young people

This reallocation of funds implies an increase of ESF investment in 51 million Euros for the four NGOs already implementing this successful Operational Programme (OP): Fundación Secretariado Gitano, Red Cross, ONCE Foundation and Cáritas. This reinforcement of the OP means, in practice, to reach around 140,000 new beneficiaries of the labour insertion activities being implemented by the Programme. These four NGOs have committed to focus these new activities on disadvantaged young people through a specific Action Plan. According to the Minister, “This Programme has become a real protection network to avoid the effects of the crisis hitting the most disadvantaged people”. The challenge ahead is to gather the required cofunding at a time when public administrations have very limited resources.
