The EAPN assessment of the 2007 Annual Progress Report on the revised Lisbon Strategy highlights 5 key ways that the Report has not responded to the proposals of social NGO’s or the promises made by the Spring Council to strengthen the social dimension of the Lisbon Strategy.
Called the Strategic Report: “Keeping up the Pace for Change”, the 2007 Annual Progress Report evaluates progress made so far and sets the course for the next cycle of the renewed Lisbon strategy (2008-10).
For EAPN, the report is a major disappointment which does not reflect the concerns of EAPN or other Social NGOs nor the 2007 Spring Council Conclusions. Neither does it reflect even some of the improvements noted in some implementation reports (see EAPN Report on the 2007 Implementation Reports), to work towards a renewed sustainable, socially cohesive vision for Europe.
