How Can Employers Prevent Discrimination & Promote Inclusion to Tackle Poverty in the Labour Market?

The European Anti-Poverty Network and the Adecco Group partnered to fosterdialogue, between stakeholders from across sectors, exploring how employersand civil society organisations can collaborate and create synergies to raiseawareness on the interplay of work and poverty and to stimulate commonactions addressing barriers faced by people experiencing poverty in the labourmarket.

In December 2024, we jointly hosted a workshop titled “Making Work a SafeRoad out of Poverty”, bringing together institutions, companies and peopleexperiencing poverty (PePs), as the start of a reflective journey to raiseawareness about the complexity of poverty, including in-work poverty. This richexchange was crucial to highlight the multidimensional interplay of work andpoverty.The collaboration created momentum to continue this joint effort, leading to theJune 3 webinar “How Can Employers Prevent Discrimination & PromoteInclusion to tackle poverty in the labour market?” focusing on how PePs mayexperience discrimination in-work or in accessing employment, and on howemployers are addressing this and putting in place measures and actions topromote inclusion of persons experiencing poverty.
