The Mainstreaming Group on Gender, Age and Demographic Change (GADC) was set up in 2009, in order to ensure that these issues are properly and consistently maintreamed in all of EAPN’s work. The Group also seeks to actively cooperate with other specialised NGOs at national and EU level in lobbying on key policy demands, highlighting the link between gender, age, demographic change and poverty.
The primary focus of the group is to ensure that the issue of discrimination (based on gender, race, ethnic minorities, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation etc) and poverty is mainstreamed in all EAPN work, and to help EAPN work actively with other specialised NGOs at national and EU level in lobbying on key policy demands, highlighting the link between discrimination and poverty.
The key activity of this group is to monitor the impact that Globalisation has on poverty within the EU and to share experiences and gain new insights from the activities of anti poverty organisations outside of Europe.
