The timing of the hearing was ideal as not only did it coincide with the closing of the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion but as well the European Parliamentary Committee Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) was in the midst of drafting its report on the “Reduction of Health Inequalities in the EU”.
This report concludes with policy recommendations for the European Commission, Parliament and Member States.
