The research, ‘Surviving Poverty: The Impact of Lone Parenthood’ was carried out by lone parents in Fife and published by the Poverty Alliance. It highlights the reality of the difficult choices that many lone parents are making in the face of rising costs, including skipping meals, and the stress caused by welfare changes. In the face of these threats more action is needed at the local and national level to ensure that lone parents do not sink further into poverty.
