The way we are funded

Primarily EAPN is funded by a grant from the European Commission to support our running costs.

Our funding comes from the EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) which is “a financing instrument at EU level to promote a high level of quality and sustainable employment, guaranteeing adequate and decent social protection, combating social exclusion and poverty and improving working conditions”.

This grant from the Commission covers approximately 80% of the core running costs for EAPN (Europe), the additional 20% coming from other sources, such as membership contributions and the co financing of EAPN (Europe) events, etc.

The EAPN National Networks raise their own funds, independently of the funds available through the EaSI programme.

Our budget is spent on:

  • Bringing our members together for meetings to exchange experiences and share knowledge on national policies for social inclusion and the impact of EU policies on these national policies;
  • Capacity building for our members to engage with key EU processes;
  • The provision of information on relevant EU developments to a wide range of actors concerned with social and economic policies and to the general public;
  • Lobbying and campaigning for the integration of the fight against poverty and social exclusion into all EU policies.

Our accounts are audited by an independent auditor each year and are available in our annual reports.
