Walloon Network Against Poverty, RWLP (member of BAPN) : New publication on inequalities and poverty in Wallonia – Working paper of IWEPS – Anne- Catherine GUIO Christine MAHY

They allow on the one hand to describe briefly the statistics on poverty and inequalities in Belgium and secondly to compare them with the EU statistics. To refine the portrait drawn on the basis of these measures, the analysis is complemented by a review of various indicators developed at national and regional levels and on the unequal access to basic rights.

With this contribution primarily descriptive, the authors hope to highlight the fact that the analysis of such indicators must be supplemented by more detailed qualitative analysis and further use of administrative data to provide a better understanding of poverty and inequality, along with the implementation of better public policy.
