We are delighted to welcome you on this new website dedicated to PeP Meetings, compiling all the information related to this year’s Meeting but also to the past Meetings.
The 13th European Meeting of People experiencing Poverty (PeP) will take place from 22 to 24 September 2014 in Brussels. The theme of this Year’s meeting is funding the fight against poverty and in particular will look at the use of Structural Funds as part of the key European Funds available. The European Meeting is only the tip of the iceberg and many national and local events and initiatives feed into and follow up from the European meetings.
This website will facilitate communication between the different delegations and give more visibility to the Meetings and to all the associated activities. Not only do you have access to all the information on this website, but you can also register by clicking on “follow” to receive updates when anything new is published and post your own messages.
It aims at national Delegates attending the Meeting as well as policy makers, journalists and of course at anyone interested in the Meetings and the issues tackled around poverty and exclusion.
We have received encouraging messages of support from Councillor Gordon Matheson, Leader of the Glasgow City Council, Christina McKelvie, Member of the Scottish Parliament, Nicola Sturgeon, Member of the Scottish Parliament and Deputy First Minister which you can read here and under the tab This Year’s Meeting.
A great welcome to all and let’s make sure this website becomes a powerful tool to bolster the participation of people with direct experience of poverty.
