Dutch voters will be heading to the polls this fall as Mark Rutte, the Dutch prime minister, prepares to leave politics following the fall of his coalition government.
As Dutch political parties have started writing their election program for 2023-2027, EAPN Netherlands released a statement with a number of proposals to reduce poverty and exclusion. “The existing labor market is in need of a strong reform and the minimum income needs to increase substantially,” the statement reads.
"The proposals contribute to a fairer distribution, an improvement in the position of the working poor and those who have to live daily on an absolute minimum. It will also help reduce child poverty and possibly even prevent this in the future. In addition, a reduction in health care costs will be an extra effect, as people will face less daily stress."
