In February 2020, 9 Universities and 3 Social Rights Institutions – including EAPN – met for the first time to kick off the Horizon 2020 project: Working Yet Poor. One year later, the project has published a video of Working Yet Poor (WorkYP) partners discussing the complexity of the working poverty phenomenon.
“In Europe, there are more than 20 million people who work in poverty. This is a scandal that needs to be addressed. We have seen an increase of people experiencing in-work poverty. It has gone up to a level of 10% of the population… Social protection systems are inadequate in helping to address this issue”.
Watch the video to meet the project consortium and EAPN’s (former) policy officer Mathias Maucher explaining the aim and goal of WorkYP.
You can find all project’s videos on WorkYP Youtube channel here.
