Brussels, 17 June 2009 – In advance of the forthcoming European Council (18-19 June) the European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) has sent a letter today to the Heads of States and Governments urging them to make visible the fight for an ‘EU we can Trust’, both in the short- term responses to the crisis and longer term vision of the post 2010 EU strategy.
The European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) launches today a website (www.adequateincome.eu) as part of the second stage of its Adequate Minimum Income Campaign. EAPN calls on all people who believe in providing everyone with the opportunity to live a dignified life to join the campaign by signing the appeal on the website.
Brussels, 30 April 2009 – On Thursday 30 April, EAPN wrote to MEPs to request support for Green MEP Jean Lambert Report on Active Inclusion, which will be voted in the European Plenary session next Tuesday 5 May.

EAPN welcomes the commitment made by the Summit to put people at the centre of the recovery plans, promoting social cohesion through an integrated economic, employment and social approach. However, these principles are not delivered through the actions proposed. The 10-step solutions focus mainly on maintaining jobs at any price, without taking full account of the broader social impact of the crisis.

Brussels, 15 October 2008 – At the opening today in Marseilles of the Round table on poverty and social exclusion where the key item for discussion is the active Inclusion strategy for the people furthest from the labour market, EAPN warns: If the EU leaders are serious about this Active Inclusion agenda they must commit to invest in policies to tackle poverty and social exclusion.
