Do you have a project idea in the field of civic education that lacks funding? Are you a member of a young NGO in civic education and searching for financial support? The Civic Innovation Fund, launched by THE CIVICS Innovation Hub, calls for projects.
Criteria:
- Projects should be startups in the sphere of civic education that focus on strengthening democratic competencies that promote participation, cohesion, and resilience.
- Projects should relate to one of the NECE thematic areas (you can find them on the bottom of this page).
- Projects should be carried out by at least 2 partners from different European countries in a transnational partnership. The partnership can be set up across sectors, but one of the partnering organisations should come from either the formal or non-formal/informal civic education sector.
- Projects should incorporate the principles of diversity, interdisciplinarity, inclusivity, intersectionality, and intergenerationality.
The projects chosen for the 2023-2024 funding will be invited to present their ideas at the NECE Festival 2023 FUTURES! (Madrid, 30 Nov. – 2 Dec. 2023). Moreover, participants will have the opportunity to showcase the outcomes of their projects at NECE Festival 2024 BORDERS! (end of 2024).
🗓 Deadline for application: 5 September 2023
💶 Minimum grant amount: € 75.000
This is a call for proposals for EU action grants in the field of Citizens’ engagement and participation under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Value Programme (CERV).
The call aims to support projects promoted by transnational partnerships and networks directly involving citizens. These projects will gather a diverse range of people from different backgrounds in activities directly linked to EU policies, giving them an opportunity to actively participate in the EU policymaking process and thus contribute to the democratic and civic life of the Union. The projects will encourage citizens’, including young persons, understanding of the policymaking process, showing in practice how to engage in the democratic life of the EU and enabling them to express and publicly exchange their views in all areas of Union action.
Projects should support democratic participation, including by stimulating and organising reflection, debates or other activities. They should also propose practical solutions that can be implemented through cooperation or coordination at European level, support the sharing of good practices, and ensure a practical link with the policymaking process.
🗓 Deadline for registration: 11 September 2023
▶️ Study tour: 23 October – 25 October 2023
Zero Waste Europe is conducting a new study tour in October in Catalonia in collaboration with REZERO.
The tour is a three-day field-trip to discover some of the region’s most emblematic zero waste cities and projects. It focuses on the following topics:
- How to best collect and treat bio-waste in both urban and rural contexts?
- How to establish effective reuse systems with the support of the wider community, looking at take-away packaging and WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) in particular.
Discover innovative projects that promote food waste prevention, repair and reuse; get hands-on experience, receive expert advice and training and learn how to implement an efficient bio-waste separate collection system.
Get in touch with experts, civil servants and colleagues from all over Europe to share your experiences and come up with powerful, innovative new ideas!
