07/12/2015 – The campaign to get the declaration on investing in children in the EP has been successful, with EAPN support. In a historical move this week, the majority of Members of the European Parliament signed a declaration promoting investing in children. The Written Declaration, designed to raise political awareness towards the European Commission and the Member States, calls for social and macroeconomic policies to protect children and their families as a political priority, especially those living in poverty.

27/11/2015 – The EU Semester Alliance held its first stakeholder dialogue meeting with key representatives from the European Commission and the Council of Ministers engaged in the Semester process. This first roundtable exchange discussed the latest developments and changes in the 2016 European Semester, in the light of the 5 Presidents Report, including a first reaction to the new Annual Growth Survey based on the Alliance’s joint letter to President Juncker, set within the broader context of how to progress on a more democratic, social and sustainable Europe.

On 02/12/2015,EAPN will hold a stakeholder dialogue round table on the topic of how to make progress on the 20% ear-marking of ESF on social inclusion and poverty and on the code of conduct on partnership. In 2015, EAPN established a Task Force to develop a Barometer survey with its members to monitor the implementation of both these topics, involving representatives from EAPN Portugal, Germany, Spain, Estonia, Romania and Bulgaria.
