On 12 October, EAPN Ireland launched a new publication called “Building Public Support for Tackling Poverty”. The short, eight page guide is aimed at community and voluntary organisations, NGOs, anti-poverty campaigners and social studies students.
On 19 October, EAPN Spain presented to the Senate a report entitled “the impact of the crisis on poverty and social exclusion: diagnosis and actions”, elaborated with all members of EAPN Spain – regional and state entities members.
In 2007, the President of the Republic committed to reduce poverty by a third in 5 years. On the occasion of the World Day of the Eradication of Poverty, the Government presented its 1st follow-up report, which shows that poverty increased, as in previous years since 2003.

EAPN Spain makes recommendations on the legislation Project on “Rights and freedoms of foreigners and their integration in Spain”
EAPN welcomes the legislation Project, as it intends to include fundamental rights for all foreigners, solve pending issues such as political rights (right to vote and participate in the political life) and labour rights (work contracts and social security as a key to labour migration), and it extends the conditions of family reunification.
