EAPN Ireland: Reduction in Poverty Rates Welcome, but European Anti-Poverty Network Ireland Warns of Huge Challenges for 2010
Responding to the publication of the Survey on Income and Living Conditions, Anna Visser Director of the European Anti-Poverty Network Ireland, welcomed the 2.1% fall in the at risk of poverty rate but warned of significant challenges ahead for 2010. The full report is available from www.cso.ie.
A series of 10 FREE seminars, January-March 2010 – 2010 will be a significant year in the fight against poverty.
On the 11-12 December an important working conference was held in Pamplona, Spain, which developed and agreed the Pamplona Declaration for a pro-active exit strategy from the crisis delivering on social inclusion.
From 26 till 28 November, EAPN Spain held its General Assembly in Valencia, involving over 200 participants from EAPN networks from nearly all autnonomous regions.
