{jathumbnail}On 19 February, EAPN organized an international conference in Dublin to progress its vision for the legacy of the 2010 European Year for Combaing Poverty and Social Exclusion, in the context of the EU’s priorities for the next decade, the “Europe 2020 strategy”.

{jathumbnail}EAPN calls on all Member States to make a historic step forward in EU cooperation by defending the Commission’s proposals for an explicit target to reduce poverty in the EU when they meet at the Spring Council on the 25-26 March.
Today, EAPN has sent a letter to President Barroso, following the informal Council held on 11 February and the recent comments made by the Commission that appear to give rise for hope that the fight against poverty and social exclusion could find a prominent place within the Europe 2020 strategy.
