On the 6th of May, the Internal Market Committee voted on the report on the Internal Market in Electricity, The report is mainly focussed on the thorny question of “ownership unbundling” ie forcing energy firms to split up their energy production and distribution businesses. On 16 -19 June the European Parliament will vote in plenary on the report.

EAPN to follow European Parliament’s vote on the Framework for the 2010 Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion
The European Commission’s proposal for a Framework on the EU Year 2010 for combating poverty and social exclusion is currently under discussion. EAPN has for long called for its adoption before the summer 2008.
