Speaking after the launch of EAPN’s minimum income campaign, Director of EAPN Ireland, Anna Visser described the initiative as “a litmus test of Europe’s commitment to the 79 million people who are at risk of poverty across the continent”.
The Italian Network is organizing a meeting on “Citizenship and Participation” in Rome, on June 19th, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs and the Regional Council for Voluntary Services.
EAPN Poland organized a debate with candidates to the European Parliament on 27th of May, concerning EAPN’s 10 demands. Four EP candidates took part to the debate, which mainly focused on Access to social services.

Brussels, 17 June 2009 – In advance of the forthcoming European Council (18-19 June) the European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN) has sent a letter today to the Heads of States and Governments urging them to make visible the fight for an ‘EU we can Trust’, both in the short- term responses to the crisis and longer term vision of the post 2010 EU strategy.
