EAPN holds stakeholder dialogue round table with EU institutions on delivery on 20% of ESF on poverty and partnership

On 02/12/2015,EAPN will hold a stakeholder dialogue round table on the topic of how to make progress on the 20% ear-marking of ESF on social inclusion and poverty and on the code of conduct on partnership. In 2015, EAPN established a Task Force to develop a Barometer survey with its members to monitor the implementation of both these topics, involving representatives from EAPN Portugal, Germany, Spain, Estonia, Romania and Bulgaria.

EAPN Portugal, as a promoter of a National Working Group on Child Poverty, organised within that working group a Conference on the topic “A look at the welfare of children and youth under the perspective of the Children’s Rights” . This event was associated with the celebration of 10 December – The International Human Rights Day – and was an opportunity to reflect on that day, through the contributions of the various speakers on the Rights of the Child.

Brussels, 19-20 November 2015 – Delegations of people experiencing poverty from 30 European countries have come to exchange for two days (19-20 November) with EU officials and other policy makers with the aim to input on policies that affect them with the hope of building greater social convergence in the European Union.

13/11/2015 (Agence Europe) – The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) should go back to its primary role, namely expressing the views of civil society and advising the other European institutions on the best ways of encouraging European integration, which could include drawing up a plinth of European social rights, as desired by the European Commission.
