{jathumbnail}Organised by the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, with the support of the European Commission and of the European Anti-Poverty Network, the 9th European Meeting of People experiencing poverty took place at the European Parliament on 25 June and at the European Commission the next day.
“The voice of the poor and the marginalised has been largely silenced in the current recession as – unlike most other groups in society – they have no powerful interest groups to represent them”, said Philip O’Connor, Chairperson of the EAPN Ireland at the launch of a book commemorating twenty years of the National Network.
