On 1st of October 2015 the European Policy Centre hosted a Policy Dialogue on the European response(s) to the refugee, migrant and humanitarian crisis: Will the EU and Member States succeed? The speakers called for the EU-coordinated approach in facing the high increase of refugees entering the EU, which could include more effective implementation of the Commission’s proposal for relocation and resettlement, the harmonization of the national asylum systems, the reorientation of the EU funds to the issue of migration, improving the EU monitoring of the flows of immigration, the cooperation between the EU and countries of emigration and, most importantly, facing the root causes for crisis in Syria.
14/10/2015 – EAPN SPain presented its 5th Report “State of Poverty, Follow up on the indicator on poverty and social exclusion 2009-2014 (Informe ‘El Estado de la Pobreza. Seguimiento del indicador de pobreza y exclusión social en España 2009 – 2014’) at Ecooo Headquarters in Madrid highlighting that poverty and social exclusion have reached record levels. The event is part of the Week against Poverty and Social Exclusion, aroudn the 17th October International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
08/12/2014 – EAPN publishes its assessment of the 2015 Annual Growth Survey and and Draft Joint Employment Report “Fresh start or broken promises?” with a series of 6 key messages.
